Today´s special : 3 pictures instead of oneFinally some action. Iceland is quite a quiet country. This is not like France where you can almost hear at every street corner the growling of an angry mob, protesting for their rights. Ah.. i miss France for this. I have to confess , few years ago, i was almost turning professional in protesting... i even lead some angry mob.. asking for more money for studying... protesting for my rights... In France this is a normal thing to do this some kind of rite of passage to become a good citizen and a good man.... After been arrested by the police spent a whole day in their company, i decided that i was man enough.
In Iceland this is not like this at all. If prices where going up in France as it is today in Iceland...we Frenchies would be beating the pavement in rhythms with pride and determination...
All this week in Iceland it has been a lot of protests concerning the prices of gas. It is kind of funny to see how they do protestation in Iceland, why and who is actually protesting.
The main leaders of the protestation are:
On the first one .. you can see the Parliament.. lock down when people in big cars were burning gas driving and buzzing in front of the Parliament. You can see the impressive security services in front of the Parliament (Aþingi in Icelandic). Just for the story, on Thursday was plan a protest.. but because the police installed small wooden barrier... they gave up...If we were in France.. If we were in France....
On the second one ...another protest...On this picture you have the truck drivers in front of the ministry of transport buzzing and protesting. The ministry was blocked inside.
The third picture you can see lines of car going to gas station.. People It´s recession time people. There is actually lines because the gas station decided to make a good gesture toward their clients and make a reduction of 25 kr on every liter of gas .. so .. instead of paying 1 kidney and 1 eye....you just pay 1 kidney... That s a pretty good deal isn´it ?
Unfortunately for me and my partner... we did fill up the car just the day before the discount... we didn´t know it.
See people protesting in Iceland is .. interesting....If i had to give them a grade... on 10.. i would give them a 3....They could do much more better than this !!! K´mon Icelander !!

- "jeppakarla" The jeep guys.. lead the the 4x4 wheel association..Mouuaaaa i would say.. why don t you own a smaller car... Don´t use a smaller one because you live down town Reykjavík and that you actually never go on the top of a mountain with you car that you can actually afford?

So, you are protesting the price of gas? How much are you paying? In France, you said this was normal? It is so not that way here. Of course, so many people are still buying gigantic cars...
Un Francais en Islande...chouet! Je suis de Singapour et j'ai envie de visiter l'islande. La novembre dernier, j'etais en l'Europe et j'aime la France beaucoup!
La vie en l'islande, est-il cher? Est-qu'il y a assez de loisirs parce que le pays est si loins des autres...!
